Beginners
For individuals who have not practiced, or have done very little Pilates.

Intermediates
For individuals who have learned the key principles of Pilates and have a basic knowledge of some of the matwork exercises.

Classes last for 50 minutes but please get to the class at least 5 minutes early so we can make a prompt start.

If current classes are not suitable, please contact me to discuss your needs as classes are always being added.

Etiquette

  • Wear Appropriate Clothing.
    You need to wear clothing that allows you to move freely. Try to avoid clothing with zips or buttons as these may make your Pilates experience a little uncomfortable. Please wear socks (no shoes), some people wear specialised Pilates socks.
  • Do Arrive On Time.
    Arriving late interrupts the flow of a class, and means that your body will not get the full benefit of the class.
  • Don't be a "No Show".
    Please let me know if you are going to miss your class either by phone or email.
  • Don't Intrude On the Class Before Yours.
    If a class is going on, be respectful.
  • Do Let Your Instructor Know About Injuries or Changes in Your Body
  • Do Ask Appropriate Questions
    Certain exercises can trigger a question that has been on your mind.
  • Don't Do Exercises that Hurt Your Body.
    You are in the class to challenge yourself not cause or worsen injures you may have.

When I do something that causes an area to ‘complain’ Andy is able to pinpoint the error either in movement or body function and adjust the exercise to avoid pain / further injury and maximise positive effect. I have struggled with lower back which radiated into my hip and leg for some years. I then had an acute bout of pain which I attended physiotherapy for and during my treatment I was introduced to Pilates. After attending a few sessions at Wimborne with Andy I now feel stronger and pain free! I was slightly nervous about attending but the classes are small and friendly with a relaxed atmosphere. Everyone works to their own ability and although it is a group lesson you do get one-to-one advice throughout the session to ensure you are in the correct position. I have learnt that you get most benefit from the small controlled movements that you are taught.

I had a bulging disc in my lower back and couldn't move for 3 weeks back in February 2015. Saw Andy for physio and decide to try his Pilates class when I could walk and sit normally! I was amazed at how much movement I could get from a couple of weeks of classes. I did a few of the exercises at home as they are easy to remember and I have a yoga mat at home. I really like that Andy changes the exercise routine every week and introduces various equipment to help and challenge us. The class is the perfect size. He makes sure everyone is doing the exercises properly and if you can't manage it he will adapt each one to suit your ability and needs! I love Andy's classes. They've helped me immensely!

I started Andy's class when my baby was 4 months old and I noticed a significant reduction in my back pain within 3 weeks of attending the class. I've now been attending Andrew's classes for 14 months now and my back pain has disappeared completely.
